Insta-Friday #13 {Even Though It's Saturday}

We started off last weekend with... you guessed it... Snow.

My friend & I started our #nosockrebellion just to stick it to the snow. 

We must have hurt the snow's feelings because it's now quickly retreating.

Finally.

Have I told you that I'm in love with washi tape? It's true! It can be used for so many things. One of my favourite being a great way to dress up a plain brown paper package. And topped with a little felt pinwheel... the ultimate cute factor.

Last Saturday also began a new round of swimming lessons. I picked up this new DIY issue to keep myself occupied while sitting poolside. I'm so ready for warm weather so I can break out all my spray painting projects!

Monday seemed to come all too soon. Along with that came a need for caffeine. I chose a bit of chocolate with my caffeine in the form of one of my favourite teas - chocolate chili chai.

My Disney mugs help to cheer me up too. :)

This week my Christmas cactus started blooming. I tried to inform it that it is, in fact April, but it is insisting on showing off its pretty white & pink blooms.

It could be the fact that I moved it recently from a not-so-sunny location to a much-more-sunny new location. 

It apparently likes the sun.

Lesson learned.

We had some long awaited sunshine this week which really helped on the melting of all the snow we've received this winter. The front yard is getting soft & slushy & the kids were trying to walk around without sinking in waist deep.

Along with melting snow come...

Puddles!

Lake Richardson returned street in front of our house.

The kids sure enjoyed splashing around in it. 

The puddle has since drained out so I'm glad I got a photo of it!

Out shopping for a birthday gift for a friend on Thursday, I came across this beautiful blue & yellow display...

And these beautiful blue vases. 

I'm thinking I could replicate this look with thrift store vases & 

some different shades of blue spray paint.
