My son's room makeover marches on!
Last week, I painted his beat up dresser a fun shade of orange...
Here is the war-torn dresser before...
(Complete with little boy hieroglyphics from years past.)
Also with memories of glow sticks gone wrong...
(A word to the wise: don't let glow sticks leak — it's a disaster waiting to happen. It is also an effective paint stripper, as we learned.)
Four (count 'em, four!!) coats of heavy duty, once-this-stuff-cures-it-ain't-going-anywhere paint & his dresser is done!
Ta-Da!
My son has used this dresser all his life. Now that he's nearing the pre-teen stage of his life, it was time for it (and his whole room) to get a fresh update.
This past weekend was a long weekend here in Canada & we took advantage of the extra time to paint Parker's room as well. We chose a neutral grey so the shots of color would pop.
We also hung the art work I made for him a few weeks ago.
My to-do list is half done!
Create artworkPaint dresserPaint walls/trim- Update window treatment
- Bulletin board
- Paint chalkboard one section on wall
- Update bedding
The window treatment is on this coming week's to-do list. I'm planning to sew a valance with some great orange fabric I found. Wish me luck!
