It's Craft Fair Season!

Happy Fall, Y'all!

Yesterday was our church's annual Fall Festival. An afternoon of carnival type food, entertainment (arm wrestling & our teen band), fun for the kids (face painting, photo booth, bouncy house, & a hay maze), & a mini craft fair!

This was my third year participating & I think it was my most successful yet!

Leading up to this year's festival, I'd been doing a lot of research on sprucing up my craft table display. I'm very happy with how it turned out & I think it looked much more inviting this year.

My main goal was to bring the displays off of the table a bit more. No more flat! I purchased some vintage apple boxes & used them to display things on and in. Dual function is always a good thing!

I strung up some twine in one of the boxes & used mini clothes pins to hang up some of my owl ornaments.

Here, you can see the yellow table cloth. It was actually a duvet cover that I thifted some time ago. I took out the side seams & ta-da! A perfectly cheery tablecloth.

I used one of my milk glass bowls to display place cards (They were a big hit!).

In the other apple box I displayed my hoop art & my tissue paper flowers.

On top of the boxes I displayed my gift card pillow boxes. I had the Christmas ones on the other side.

I also used some pretty vintage doilies / embroidered napkins on the tops of the apple boxes to add a homey touch.

Here you see it all together.

I added washi tape mini bunting to the front of the table along with a "Silver Boxes" banner.

I had someone tell me that it looked like a party... Shopping is fun after all, right? ;)

In the middle of the table, I used an old frame that I had lying around. (Literally. Under my guest bed.)
I bought some chicken wire at Home Depot & my husband kindly helped me out by stapling it into the frame.

Then I used some clothes pins to pin up some of my handmade cards.

Some polka dot garlands are draped on either side of the frame.

Are you a crafter who has a table or booth at some local craft fairs?

They're a lot of fun. I've already got another one lined up for November!

Yellow & Grey Baby Cards

Okay guys.

I haven't forgotten about you. But you know what season is coming up?

Craft Fair Season!

I've been spending every. spare. moment. getting cards & other crafts ready for my first one at the beginning of October.

I've got a nice batch of goodies going already & I'll be sure to share some photos with you soon.

As you may or may not know I make a lot of baby cards for a friend of mine who owns a baby boutique.

These yellow & grey series are some of the most recent ones I've made for her.

Those photos are actually stickers that all came on a sheet together & turned out to become some of the sweetest, most simple cards!

I hope your having a great week!

Marjolaine Birthday Cards

School's back in session & I'm now prepping for the fall & Christmas craft fair season.

Here's a series of cards I've created for my booth.

All of them are made almost entirely of product from Basic Grey's Marjolaine line, with the exception of the card stock & the birthday stickers.

I hope these can bring some inspiration for you to mix up some patterns & whip up some handmade cards too!

Have a happy weekend!

Chevron Ribbon Card

When's the last time you had a birthday party for yourself? Why do we just reserve them for the kids only?
I'm thinking that adults have far too few birthday parties. Shouldn't we celebrate each other's lives & achievements as well?
I say yes!

If I was to throw myself a birthday party, I think I would have a chevron theme like this chevron ribbon card.

It's full of my favourite things... all my favourite colours, resin flowers, crochet flowers, & of course CHEVRON!

Products used:
  • Cardstock - Michael's
  • Chevron ribbon - American Crafts
  • Resin flowers - Michael's
  • Crochet flowers - Michael's
  • Happy birthday sticker - American Crafts
  • Corner punch - EK Success

Tag Birthday Card

Hi everyone!

I hope your week is going well & you're enjoying your summer.
The kids started swimming lessons earlier this week, so we've been spending the morning at the pool everyday & will be until the end of next week. The weather has been beautiful & I'm enjoying the sun while I watch them swim.

Today's card was created with a variety of patterned papers from My Mind's Eye. I really like purchasing the 6x6 pads - they're perfect for card making! The patterns are a bit smaller & when I can find them at Winners & Homesense, the price cannot be beat!

I started by using strips of paper that had a simple notch cut into the bottom.

I used the alphabet stickers for a sentiment &
 added a bit more detail with some brads & baker's twine.

A trendy, colorful birthday card!

Products used:

  • Cardstock - Michael's
  • Patterned Papers - My Mind's Eye
  • Foam Letters - American Crafts
  • Mini Letters - Making Memories
  • Brads - American crafts (Large) & Basic Grey (Small)
  • Baker's Twine - My Mind's Eye

This Way To Birthday Fun!

Well, after a little blogging break to get settled into summer, I'm back!

Taking a break always usually helps me think of some creative posts to share with you & get fired up for my next project. Breaks are good. They are needed. But it's good to be back.

What have you been up to so far this summer?

~~~
Here's a fun birthday card that perfectly suited to a summer birthday party!
Doily Birthday Card {Echo Park}
In the last several days, it's been raining cats & dogs here in Saskatoon. Today was the first day of sunshine since last week. Because of all the rain, we've been stuck inside. We've been doing alot of reading, playing games, watching movies, & doing crafts. I even got some scrapbooking in, which I haven't done in a long time.
Sunshiny summer days call for bright, summery colours!
This was a very fast card, made with a bunch of paper scraps.
Polka Dot Baby Card
Polka dots are all the rage, have you noticed? Geometric patterns are my fav so I'm loving the polka dots, stripes, & chevron that I'm seeing everywhere.
I also enjoy bringing trends into my paper crafts as well...
Enter the polka dot baby card! A fun way to mix & match patterns too!
Button Baby Card
Is there anything more sweet than a new baby? I think God makes them so adorable so that we want to be around them & take care of them. :)
And because babies are so cute, we want the things around them & the things that celebrate them to be cute too!
Doily Congratulations Card
Oh man! I totally blanked on yesterday's post & forgot all about it! Sorry!
So, a day late (but you know what they say, right? Better late than never & all that.), here is my Doily Congratulations Card with a splash of spring color & some chevron thrown in for good measure.
We are in the midst of baby shower & wedding shower season, right? It's an exciting time, with all kinds of preparations for new babies & new lives together.
This pretty card is perfect for those special occasions.
Easter weekend is almost here! Can you believe it? It seems to just have snuck up on us this year. I think it's because it's in March this year.
Fantasyland Layout {Echo Park}
It's been a few weeks since I shared a scrapbook layout. This is one that I did for our Disney album from our trip last summer.
Fantasyland was one of our favourite parts of the whole Disneyland park. It was our very first stop on our very first morning.
