Christmas Cards

You know last week I was talking about blasting my Christmas music & creating with my little girl? Well, I'm pleased to say I got to do just that this weekend. We were singing carols & crafting our hearts out. My little girl was happy with just a bunch of paper & punches. She punched flowers & shapes to her heart's content.

  Here's what I created:

I'm almost ready for my fall festival booth. Just a few more birthday cards to make. I'm looking forward to it so much!

What have you been creating lately?

Enjoy your day!

Gift Card Holders

All the Christmas paper crafts I've been doing are getting me in the mood for Christmas! I'm itching to start playing my Christmas music & start other Christmas crafts. Have you started listening to your Christmas tunes yet? My hubby is going hunting with my son on Saturday so maybe I'll crank some Bing Crosby or Ella Fitzgerald (I lo-oo-ove the classics!) & do some more crafting with my little girl.

A little public opinion poll here: When you start listening to Christmas music, is there one album that you put on first? What's your go-to Christmas album?

One of the things I've been working on is gift card holders for Christmas. More people are giving gift cards than ever before. Including me. My nieces & nephew are getting older & wanting to pick their own gear. I get that. So, if you're going to give a gift card, make your gift a bit more personal by giving it in a handmade holder. Perhaps something like this??

Lovin' the bird & the music on this paper.

The snowflakes on this paper are flocked a.k.a. fuzzy! I'm in love!

I'll be spending more time in my craft room this weekend, working on birthday cards. One week until the Fall Festival! Eeeek!

Enjoy your weekend, my friends!

Paper Boxes for Cards

As I explained on Monday, I'm in the throws of making all kinds of cards, boxes, & tags for an upcoming craft sale I will be attending. Today I'm giving you a peek at the boxes I'm making to house a collection of my handmade cards. These hold about 10 cards - 15 if you pack them in. These boxes are super easy to make, but do require accurate measuring & cutting. :)

They're a great way to use up scrap patterned paper too!

If you would like to have measurements & instructions on how to make these boxes,
leave me a comment & I'll do up a tutorial for these.
I aim to please. :)

Christmas Gift Tags

Well, after a yummy week of cookie goodness, I'm taking a break from baking this week & am putting my creative focus on my paper crafts. I've been asked to do a booth at my church's fall festival at the end of this month, so I'm working like a crazy woman to get greeting cards, gift card holders, boxes, & gift tags made to sell at my booth. A friend of mine who is also a card maker is going to join me & sell her goodies as well. I'm excited & nervous at the same time.  I'm excited to have a venue to show / sell to people I know, but I also hope people like what I have to offer. In any case, it will be a fun time with yummy food & good friends.

I'm also excited to see what my fellow crafters have whipped up. I'll be sure to take pics & post them.

This past week, we had my mom-in-love, Ethel & my sister-in-love, Jodi staying with us. While they were here, they helped me create the gift tags I will be selling at the fall festival. We fired up my Cricut & started cutting! Ornaments, mittens, snowflakes, & stockings were all fashioned into cute little tags.

So, without further ado, here's what I've been working on:

What do you think? Can you see yourself adding these cute little tags to your Christmas gifts this year? Which are your favourites?

MAYBE I'll make up some more & do a give away!! What do you think?

Enjoy Your Day!

Scrapbooking our summer vacation

I'm almost finished scrapbooking the photos from our summer vacation to Jasper National Park. I got these 4 layouts done last weekend.

Sorry about the less-than-perfect photos of the layouts. I was photographing them in the evening when I had no natural light.

I used Echo Park's Country Drive collection for 'Hangin' Out'.

More Echo Park on this one. I used the Splash collection for 'River Rafting'. I printed a Picnik collage onto an 8x10 sheet & trimmed the sides to make it the 8x8 square I wanted.

I used mostly My Mind's Eye for 'Evening Walk'.

'Maligne Canyon' was made with a mish mash of products.

What crafty projects have you been up to?? Drop me a comment & let me know. I'd love to hear from you.

I'm excited about this coming week. We're headed out of town tomorrow for my husband's grandpa's 90th birthday celebration. On Monday, we have Thanksgiving with my family. Later that day, my mom-in-law & sister-in-law are coming for a week long visit. We love having them!

Another fun thing about next week is going to be.... Cookie Week! Oh yes. I'm going to be posting 5 of my favourite every day cookie recipes. I hope you'll join me. It's going to be tasty.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Thanksgiving! I'm thankful for you.

"Thankful" thanksgiving banner

Well, here in Canada, Thanksgiving is coming up soon. This weekend, in fact! Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, pumpkin pie... Mmmm... is it dinner time yet, Mom? :) We're so blessed to be invited to my parent's for Thanksgiving dinner on Monday. It's one of my favourite times of year.

For Thanksgiving, I like to add some extra touches to my fall decor. I made this Thanksgiving banner to display at this time of year.

I started with 8x8 squares of patterned paper. Then, I wanted to round the corners off to make them look "leaf-ish". I actually used a soup bowl to trace the rounded edge & free cut them.
Then I:
-inked the edges
-cut the letters with my cricut
-stamped leaves in fall-ish colours & cut them out
-gathered all my fall type stickers, etc.
-started decorating!

Then I punched holes in the top of each "leaf" & used ribbon to connect them into a banner. I hung it under my bar top between the living room & kitchen.

Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canadians!

I'm thankful for:
My loving Saviour, Jesus Christ
My wonderful husband
My precious children
My warm, comfy home
My fabulous friends
My great church family

And really, what else do I need?

What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving?

Enjoy your day!

5 minute card

Here's a super fast card idea for when you need to:
a) get a card made quick!
b) use up some scraps of paper
c) feel like you did something with your crafty time. Sometimes, that's just the way it is. :)

First, gather your materials. You will need:
-cardstock
-patterned paper
-stamp
-ink
-gem or pearl
-adhesive

Minute 1
Cut your cardstock to the size you want your card. I cut my card stock to 8-1/2 inches x 5-1/2 inches. Fold in half to make card.

Minute 2
Punch out your patterned paper. I used a square punch , then rounded two opposite corners with a corner rounder punch. Cut additional strip of patterned paper.

Minute 3
Stamp sentiment on card.

Minute 4
Adhere the punched papers.

Minute 5
Adhere paper strip & pearl.

Done!

Have you done any super fast projects lately? I have to admit, I'm not into long, really detailed projects. Quick & simple are my favourite!

I'm off to the semi annual flea market tomorrow!! I'm super pumped!! Look how many exclamation points I'm using! :)

Happy Friday!
Enjoy your weekend! (more exclamation points... sheesh, talk about overkill.)

This Week's Papercrafts

On Friday, I had the chance to go scrapbooking with my friends, Allison & MJ. I've been working on scrapping the photos from this year's summer holiday. We went camping in the mountains of Jasper National Park in Alberta. I got a few layouts finished. Here are a couple of my favourites:

I'm also in the midst of working on my first international card order.
My little card business is called Eiffel Cards by Stephanie.
Here are this past week's creations:

Have you been working on anything crafty this week? I'd love to hear about it!
Be sure to leave a comment & tell me about it.

Enjoy your day!

Note Card Set & Cupcake Layout

At last! Another papercrafts post. It seems like it's been awhile. :) As I said yesterday, I was able to get some time in at my craft table this past weekend. Here are the fruits of my labours:

On Friday, Paper Crafts on Facebook shared a picture of a fan who had posted this idea. I saw it & got stoked to give it a shot. These cards were made entirely of scraps. Wouldn't the set make a great gift?

The key to making this work was the black patterned paper being used in all of the cards. It ties them together as a set.

I'm still lovin' Echo Park's Little Girl line. I've used almost my whole collection pack up... that's pretty rare for me.  Maybe I'll make some girly cards like the ones above with the scraps I have left over... now there's an idea!

Here's the latest & greatest layout I've made with this adorable line:

Have you been up to anything crafty lately? I'd love to hear about it!

Happy Labour Day!

Are any of you working on projects on this last day of the Labour Day Weekend? I was to have at least started my table painting project by now, but we had a family emergency involving my husband's grandpa on Friday evening & all day Saturday. He's okay now, but his health seems to be deteriorating. We were able to have a very nice visit with him during our time together & we cherish that.

So, my to-do list today consists of cleaning the house & getting to that painting project. I promise I'll post the results as soon as it's complete.

I was able to complete a scrapbook layout on Friday. My daughter had a Pretty Princess party for her birthday this year. For this layout, I used Echo Park's Little Girl collection almost exclusively. I added a few felt crowns & some jewels to finish things off.

Have a wonderful Labour Day! I hope you all get to do/finish whatever is it that you have planned. Thanks for stopping by!

Enjoy your day!

8x8 scrapbook layouts

Last week, my husband, James, took me on an anniversary get-away. It was 5 days of loveliness. We went to Prince Albert National Park here in Saskatchewan. The weather was great so we even got in a little bit of beaching along with some fishing, hiking, lots of dinners out, & tons of R&R.

I brought some of my scrapping supplies along & while James was napping/watching football one afternoon, I started working on an 8x8 album with photos from Spring 2011. I don't use 8x8 albums super often, but I do like how they bring focus to the photos & don't require much to make them look great. When I do a 8x8 album, I do it with a theme - Spring in this case, but I have done mostly vacations in the past. I gather all the supplies I have that goes with that theme, cut my papers (or in this case, used a pre-cut 8x8 patterned paper pack), & start the fun!

Here are some favourites from my now-completed 8x8 Spring 2011 Album:

Supplies used:
Patterned Papers, Journalling spots, Butterflies - Making Memories
Die cut flowers, Photo corners - Creative Memories
Flair (Adhesive badges) - American Crafts
Chipboard words & phrases - Little Yellow Bicycle
Bird Punch - Stampin' Up!
Die cut Heart - unknown
Bling & pearls - Prima & Dollarama

Enjoy your day!
