Christmas Banner

It's done! Yesterday I finished making the Christmas banner for my friend, Angela's store window. Here's the big reveal!

I'm so in love with it that I HAVE to make one of these banners for myself!

Supplies used:

  • Patterned paper - 5 patterns
  • Solid cardstock - cream, green, red
  • Eyelets
  • Stickles - brown
  • Ribbon
  • Cricut machine. Cartridges used: George & Basic Shapes (rectangle), Winter Wonderland (scalloped tag), & Alphalicious (letters)

A close up while just after I finished putting on the Stickles (glitter glue)
Fun little tip: While I was oh-so-carefully applying the Stickles, my hand slipped & I got a little glob off the line I was working on. I asked my daughter to quickly run & grab me a Q-tip. She came back with some toothpicks! Haha! It ended up being a fantastic mistake because I tried them & they worked like a charm! The tiny little end made it perfect for tidying up the uneven parts or any stray sparkles.

What crafts are you currently working on? I realize that those of you who live in the U.S.A. will be celebrating Thanksgiving soon whereas we've already celebrated that holiday here in Canada.
Do you decorate for Christmas before American Thanksgiving or after?

Whatever the case may be...Enjoy your day!

Christmas Crafts To Try

It's feeling very Christmasy around here. We got our first real snowfall this weekend & the Christmas music has started in full force. I was working on whipping up a Christmas banner for a friend this weekend. I'm almost done & will post photos & details soon.

As many of you, I've been pinning lots of wonderful craft ideas for Christmas on Pinterest. Here's some crafty projects I plan to do for this Christmas:

You may remember that I found some vintage spools on my last thrifty outing
This is what I plan to do with them.

I've started on these candy canes already. I'm doing mine in blues & greys.
I quite like the twine & newsprint too.
I think sheet music would look divine as well.

I have a big bag of pinecones I love to use & have been looking for different ways to incorporate them into my Christmas decor. I have this exact vase & think this is a fun use of spray paint.
My Christmas colours are blue, white & silver. I think I'll paint them in those colours.

I've been diligently saving toilet paper tubes to use as treat packages for my kid's little school friends.
I have several different ideas like this pinned. We'll see which one I go with. :)

So, what were you up to this weekend? Anyone decorating for Christmas yet?

Enjoy your day!

This Weekend's Project

This weekend, I'm delving into another Christmas project. This one is for a friend of mine who owns a store & wants to hang a "Merry Christmas" banner in her front window. Here's the inspiration:

She wants her banner to actually be two separate banners. One for "Merry" & one for "Christmas".

I'm excited to start working on it! I'll post about it once it's finished.

Enjoy your weekend!

Christmas Cards

You know last week I was talking about blasting my Christmas music & creating with my little girl? Well, I'm pleased to say I got to do just that this weekend. We were singing carols & crafting our hearts out. My little girl was happy with just a bunch of paper & punches. She punched flowers & shapes to her heart's content.

  Here's what I created:

I'm almost ready for my fall festival booth. Just a few more birthday cards to make. I'm looking forward to it so much!

What have you been creating lately?

Enjoy your day!

Gift Card Holders

All the Christmas paper crafts I've been doing are getting me in the mood for Christmas! I'm itching to start playing my Christmas music & start other Christmas crafts. Have you started listening to your Christmas tunes yet? My hubby is going hunting with my son on Saturday so maybe I'll crank some Bing Crosby or Ella Fitzgerald (I lo-oo-ove the classics!) & do some more crafting with my little girl.

A little public opinion poll here: When you start listening to Christmas music, is there one album that you put on first? What's your go-to Christmas album?

One of the things I've been working on is gift card holders for Christmas. More people are giving gift cards than ever before. Including me. My nieces & nephew are getting older & wanting to pick their own gear. I get that. So, if you're going to give a gift card, make your gift a bit more personal by giving it in a handmade holder. Perhaps something like this??

Lovin' the bird & the music on this paper.

The snowflakes on this paper are flocked a.k.a. fuzzy! I'm in love!

I'll be spending more time in my craft room this weekend, working on birthday cards. One week until the Fall Festival! Eeeek!

Enjoy your weekend, my friends!

Christmas Gift Tags

Well, after a yummy week of cookie goodness, I'm taking a break from baking this week & am putting my creative focus on my paper crafts. I've been asked to do a booth at my church's fall festival at the end of this month, so I'm working like a crazy woman to get greeting cards, gift card holders, boxes, & gift tags made to sell at my booth. A friend of mine who is also a card maker is going to join me & sell her goodies as well. I'm excited & nervous at the same time.  I'm excited to have a venue to show / sell to people I know, but I also hope people like what I have to offer. In any case, it will be a fun time with yummy food & good friends.

I'm also excited to see what my fellow crafters have whipped up. I'll be sure to take pics & post them.

This past week, we had my mom-in-love, Ethel & my sister-in-love, Jodi staying with us. While they were here, they helped me create the gift tags I will be selling at the fall festival. We fired up my Cricut & started cutting! Ornaments, mittens, snowflakes, & stockings were all fashioned into cute little tags.

So, without further ado, here's what I've been working on:

What do you think? Can you see yourself adding these cute little tags to your Christmas gifts this year? Which are your favourites?

MAYBE I'll make up some more & do a give away!! What do you think?

Enjoy Your Day!
